Our SIIRI for public lecture series has gained significant popularity, attracting a diverse audience from the fields of science, medicine, and the general public. Over the course of five evenings, we offered insightful lectures covering key topics such as dental implants, ear implants, and implants for knees and hips. Our researchers provided valuable insights into current implantation procedures, innovative approaches to preventing complications, the requirements for new implants and their functionalities, and the crucial role of doctor-patient communication in ensuring implant safety.

What made the series particularly special for our participants was the opportunity to directly interact with presenters and explore various venues, including the Lower Saxony Center for Biomedical Engineering, Implant Research and Development (NIFE), Hannover Medical School, Diakovere Annastift, and the Production Technology Center (PZH) at Leibniz University in Garbsen.

A standout moment for our guests was the chance to visit our research laboratories after the lectures, providing a firsthand look at the wide range of implant research and the multidisciplinary nature of developing innovative implants. Guests described the event series as “hands-on research,” and we are proud to have reached and engaged such a broad audience.

Stay tuned for exciting developments and future events that bring SIIRI’s work closer to the people who will benefit from it the most – patients and healthcare professionals alike.
